As many of you know, I’ve been in recovery for the past 15 years.

I used to live a life full of drugs and violence, starting when I was about 14 / 15 years old.

During that time, I really believed that I wouldn’t live much past 21 or that I would be incarcerated for an incredibly long time.

Instead, a few months before my 22nd birthday (December 7th, 2006) I found recovery and have been sober ever since. You can read more about my recovery journey here.

Every year that’s gone by since then I’ve always said, “I’m very grateful for another year in the bonus round”.

My life now is more than I ever thought I could achieve.

When I purchased my dream boat this past year, I called my dad and asked him what he thinks I should name it.

Without missing a beat he said, “Name it The Bonus Round” and so I did.
